I go back and forth between my Mac and Windows desktop for work quite a bit. I am looking for a note taking app that can support both. Currently used OneNote on Windows, but as my work blocks access to all cloud sites, I cannot use it any longer for both as the new version is OneDrive only.

Started back in 2008, Evernote has grown in popularity within the past few years and is probably the premiere freeware (mostly) note taking app, not just for Windows PCs, but also for Macs.
That said, the app will need to store my notes locally. I do not need to sync, as I can save it to a network share and access between both.
I do not do any special things like hand written notes. Most are imports of txt files or documents or journals for projects. https://happyheavy456.weebly.com/splashtop-app-for-mac.html. https://happyheavy456.weebly.com/8x8-desktop-app-for-mac.html.
